Akinbo, Tolulope

Tolulope Akinbo is a student in the Master of Public Health Program with a concentration in Epidemiology. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Health Education with a specialization in Community Health Education from the University of Florida's college of Health and Human Performance. Ms. Akinbo is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) whose developing interests are in Pharmacoepidemiology. She is also the current secretary for the Student Section of the Florida Public Health Association, and was a featured scholar in the 2007/2008 University Scholars Program.
Lisa LaGorio, BA, MS/CCC-SLP

Lisa LaGorio is both a doctoral student in the Department Rehabilitation Science-Communicative Disorders and a Master of Public Health-Epidemiology student. She received her Bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of Minnesota, and her Master's Degree from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. She has more than 12 years clinical experience as a licensed medical Speech Language Pathologist with expertise in adult and pediatric dysphagia rehabilitation, cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation after acquired brain injury, and vocal rehabilitation of the aging voice. She has taught numerous continuing education courses and lectured nationally in the area of dysphagia rehabilitation.
Ms. LaGorio's current research interests include the epidemiology of swallowing and voice disorders in the geriatric population, and the use of new technologies and treatment paradigms in the rehabilitation of dysphagia and dysphonia following stroke and head and neck cancer. She was recently awarded a 2007 American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Graduate Student Scholarship and a 2007 UF College of Public Health and Health Professions Research Award for her research.
Jenny Snow

Jenny is a second year student in the Master of Public Health program at the University of Florida with a concentration in Epidemiology. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology in 2007 from North Carolina State University. During her time in the MPH program, she conducted various research projects on childhood obesity and the health effects associated with live-in caregivers. She currently serves as a graduate research assistant at UF's Maternal Child Health and Education Research and Data Center. Her passion is in maternal and child health epidemiology, but also has a strong interest in infectious disease epidemiology. After completing her MPH, she hopes to continue her education in the clinical field.
