Wajiha Akhtar

Wajiha is a first year PhD, second year MPH student in Epidemiology. She obtained her BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami. Her research interest are primarily in health related issues in Aging, specifically Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia. She is currently working as a research assistant for the Florida Office on Disability and Health, analyzing BRFSS caregiving data. She also serves as a teaching assistant for the College of Public Health and Health Professions.
Brad Cannell

Brad is currently pursuing his PhD in Epidemiology and the UF Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. He received his BA in Political Science and Marketing from the University of North Texas in 2005, and his MPH with a concentration in Epidemiology from the University of Louisville in 2009. He is a Graduate Research assistant for Dr. Elena Andresen and the Aging and Rehabilitation Research Center (ARRC), and a student inducted member of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. His current research is in issues of aging, rehabilitation, and quality of life.
Zhulin He

Zhulin He is currently a first year PhD student in Biostatistics. She got her BS in Statistics from Nankai University and MS in Statistics from University of Calgary. During her master, she focused her research in survival analysis and nonparametrical analysis. She has various interests in biostatistics. She hopes to get a deep diving in Biostatistics.
Doug Livingston

Doug is a first year PhD, second year MPH student in Epidemiology. He is part of the first class of students admitted to the Epidemiology PhD program at the University of Florida. He obtained his BA in Physics from the University of Florida. His research interests are primarily in social epidemiology and health disparities, particularly in perinatal outcomes. He is currently analyzing NHIS and census data for neighborhood effects on breast cancer screening.
Chad Dante Neilsen
Chad is a first year PhD, second year MPH student in Epidemiology. He is part of the first class of students admitted to the Epidemiology PhD program at the University of Florida. He obtained his BS in Biology from the University of Central Florida. His research interests are primarily in infectious disease epidemiology, including vector-borne diseases, virology and immunology. He is currently analyzing West Nile Virus and Influenza data collected from around the United States to help elucidate clinical and immunological features of these diseases. He also serves as a teaching assistant for several courses within the College of Public Health and Health Professions.
Jean M. Sweitzer
Jean is a first year PhD student in Epidemiology. She is part of the first class of students admitted to the Epidemiology PhD program at the University of Florida. Jean earned her BS in Genetics and MS in Preventive Medicine from The Ohio State University. She completed a Master of Health Administration (MHA) at Florida in 2005. Her research interests include chronic disease epidemiology and oral health. Currently, Jean is the Chief of Staff at the UF College of Dentistry where she has responsibility for accreditation, strategic planning, special projects and a number of other administrative activities in the Dean's office. Since joining the college she also served as the project manager for the $1.5 million Teledentistry grant funded by the Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration.
Yanpin Wang
I am Yanpin Wang, a first year PhD student in Biostatistics. I got masters in mathematics and statistic science at University of Florida in 2007 and 2008. I am currently a research assistant to Dr. Daniels. My research interests include longitudinal data analysis, missing data analysis, survival analysis, Bayesian method, and McMc method and more.
Hao Zheng
Hao is a first year PhD student in Biostatistics. He received both his bachelor's and master's degree in Statistics from the University of Florida. He also holds a part-time position at the Maternal Child Health and Education Research and Data Center.
